Thumbs Down

$15.00

4” x 4” - B&W Woodcut - Edition of 100 numbered, titled, and signed

The origin of the Thumbs down is a bit foggy, But I have read that it can be traced back to the days of the Gladiator. Surprisingly, and contrary to pop culture, it is believed that the Thumbs down meant “Swords Down” to spare the life of a fighter worthy to see another day.

All prints are 100% originals pulled directly from the hand carved and inked woodblock.
